For a stay of days or weeks without a fixed line, Vodafone Segundas Residencias Flexible has no monthly fee and no minimum term: buy a device once (MiFi EUR 36), then pay EUR 5 for 2 days, EUR 25 for 7 or EUR 35 for 31, as of October 2026. Orange 5G en casa costs EUR 3 a day up to EUR 33 a month plus EUR 20 setup, but ties you to 12 months. If fibre can be installed, O2 600 Mb at EUR 27 a month with no term is cheaper from the first month.

What Can You Get Without a Fixed Line?

Two products had a price we could confirm on the provider's own page on 2026-10-26. Vodafone sells the device and the passes separately; Orange lends the router and charges by the day.

Prices as of October 2026, read on Vodafone's and Orange's own pages.

Orange's 12-month commitment was found on Orange's page in our own check; the research did not report it. Orange states that the minimum monthly fee is one day of use, so a month in which you never switch the service on still costs EUR 3 while the commitment runs.

What Does a Weekend, a Week or a Month Cost?

Vodafone's hardware is a one-off; later stays cost the passes only. The Vodafone columns add the cheapest device (MiFi, EUR 36) and the mains-powered 4G router (EUR 72); the 5G router is EUR 144. Orange assumes the router is returned when you leave.

Computed from the provider prices as of October 2026. Orange's three months assume at least 11 days switched on each month, so each month hits the cap.

On the first stay alone, Orange is cheaper: EUR 26 against EUR 41 for a weekend, EUR 53 against EUR 71 for a month. The difference is the term. A short stay is shorter than Orange's 12-month commitment, so leaving means sending the router back, or paying EUR 60.50 if you do not: a month then costs EUR 113.50 (EUR 53 + EUR 60.50). From the second stay, Vodafone is cheaper per weekend (EUR 5 against 2 x EUR 3 = EUR 6) and keeps no contract running between stays.

The week uses Vodafone's 7-day pass. Vodafone's page, as read, does not say whether 2-day passes can be bought back to back to cover a week, so we do not count that.

When Is Fixed Fibre Cheaper?

When fibre can be installed at the address, it is cheaper from the first month. O2 Fibra 600 Mb is EUR 27 a month, a final price with no introductory offer to expire and no minimum term, as of October 2026. The research put the crossover at month two; recomputed, O2 is cheaper in month one by EUR 44 (EUR 71 - EUR 27) against Vodafone with the MiFi, and the gap then grows by EUR 8 a month (EUR 35 - EUR 27). Against Orange it grows by EUR 6 a month (EUR 33 - EUR 27).

Cumulative cost after each month, as of October 2026. Vodafone: device + months x EUR 35. Orange: EUR 20 + months x EUR 33. O2: months x EUR 27.

The research paired O2 with Pepephone at the same price. Pepephone's page shows EUR 34.60 a month for 600 Mb or 1 Gb, still EUR 0.40 a month below a 31-day Vodafone pass. Fibre only works where it reaches the building: check the address on the Ministry's broadband coverage map first. More no-term plans are on internet without a contract.

The runner-up's price is wrong: Orange's page gives EUR 20 + EUR 33 = EUR 53, EUR 27.05 more than the research, with a 12-month commitment; EUR 113.50 if the router is not returned.

How Early Should You Order?

Vodafone ships the Flexible device: 2 to 3 working days on the peninsula, 5 to 7 to the Balearics, Canaries, Ceuta and Melilla; free delivery (Vodafone's page, October 2026). Order it before you travel, especially to the islands. Vodafone's page, as we read it, gives no activation time for a pass, so we do not state one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What internet is best for a second home in Spain?

If fibre can be installed and you are there most months, fixed fibre: O2 600 Mb is EUR 27 a month, final price, no minimum term, so EUR 324 a year (EUR 27 x 12, as of October 2026). If you go for weekends, Vodafone Segundas Residencias Flexible costs EUR 36 once for the MiFi and EUR 5 per 2-day pass, with no monthly fee. It stays below a year of O2 up to 57 weekend passes a year ((EUR 324 - EUR 36) / EUR 5), or up to 8 months of 31-day passes ((EUR 324 - EUR 36) / EUR 35).

Can a student in Spain get fibre without paying during summer?

We have no verified fibre product that pauses for the summer. Two confirmed facts help: O2 fibre has no minimum term (EUR 27 a month for 600 Mb, as of October 2026), so the contract does not lock you in; and Vodafone Flexible has no monthly fee at all, so a summer without passes costs nothing after the hardware (from EUR 36). What happens to installation or reconnection if you cancel fibre and sign up again in September was not confirmed.

How long does a Vodafone Flexible router take to arrive?

2 to 3 working days on the peninsula, 5 to 7 to the Balearics, Canaries, Ceuta and Melilla; free delivery, as stated on Vodafone's page (October 2026). Order before you travel, because the passes only work once the device has arrived.

Is Orange 5G en casa EUR 25.95 a month?

No. Orange's page shows EUR 3 per day the service is switched on, capped at EUR 33 a month, plus EUR 20 setup, as of October 2026. A full first month is EUR 53. It also carries a 12-month commitment when the router is lent; if you leave, you return the router or pay EUR 60.50.
