As of October 2026, only three electricity tariffs in Spain show a numeric price on the supplier's own page: TotalEnergies at EUR 0.1199 per kWh (below 4,000 kWh a year), Holaluz at EUR 0.154 and Octopus Energy at EUR 0.154, all before tax and fixed for 12 months. A fair comparison also needs the power term, which TotalEnergies does not publish, so check any offer in the CNMC comparator. Iberdrola and Endesa are Spain's largest electricity suppliers, both with nationwide coverage and renewable-backed tariff options. Naturgy is the traditional leader in gas supply and also sells electricity, and Repsol is a strong all-round challenger bundling electricity, gas, and fuel products. All four are comercializadoras regulated by the CNMC, and all compete against the regulated PVPC tariff. Beyond the big four, other active national challengers include EDP, TotalEnergies, Repsol, Octopus Energy, and Holaluz, plus dozens of smaller comercializadoras; the CNMC publishes the full, current census of registered electricity suppliers at its official registry (source: CNMC, Listado de Comercializadoras de Electricidad, sede.cnmc.gob.es, as of July 2026).

Which Tariffs Publish a Price, and What Do They Cost?
These are the only household electricity tariffs whose numeric price we could read on the supplier's own page on 25 October 2026. They are sorted by energy price per kWh, but the energy price alone is not a fair comparison: the power term (what you pay per kW of contracted power, whether you use it or not) changes the bill too, and the suppliers publish it in different units. Holaluz's EUR 0.12 per kW per day before tax, peak and valley is EUR 43.80 per kW a year (x 365 days); Octopus's EUR 3.60 per kW per month before tax, peak and valley is EUR 43.20 per kW a year (x 12 months), both before tax. TotalEnergies does not publish its power term.
| Supplier and tariff | Energy price | Online price | Power term | Price fixed | Minimum term | Compare |

- TotalEnergies: The research also reports EUR 0.0999/kWh above 4,000 kWh a year; the tariff page does not show it.
- Holaluz: Price fixed for 12 months, with the right of withdrawal.
- Octopus Energy: Prices fixed for 12 months.
For every other offer, use the CNMC's official, advertising-free Comparador de Ofertas de Energia. Iberdrola, Endesa, Naturgy and Repsol showed no numeric price on their own pages, so they are listed below without one.

- Combined electricity, gas, and fuel-discount products
- Loyalty program tied to Repsol fuel stations
- Growing challenger in the electricity and gas market
How Do You Choose an Energy Provider in Spain?
Start by comparing the per-kWh energy price and the power term separately from the regulated grid and levy components, since only the energy portion differs between suppliers. If green sourcing matters, compare Iberdrola and Endesa's renewable-tariff certifications. If gas is your main need, Naturgy's traditional gas focus may offer a wider range of gas-specific options. Use the CNMC's official Comparador de Ofertas de Energia to check current offers before committing.
What Should Expats Know When Choosing a Supplier?
Most expats prioritize a supplier that offers a straightforward alta nueva (new connection) or cambio de titular (change of contract holder) process, English-language customer service where available, and a clear combined electricity-and-gas bill. See the full energy hub for the complete market-structure breakdown, including the difference between your supplier and the regional distributor.
How Much Does Energy Cost by Supplier?
Energy pricing in Spain varies by supplier, tariff type, contracted power, and region, and has moved significantly with wholesale gas and electricity markets in recent years, so there is no single flat rate across providers. The three supplier-published tariffs above run from EUR 0.1199 to EUR 0.154 per kWh before tax (October 2026). See our price research page for the regulated gas TUR, two worked gas bills and the July 2026 comparison-site bands.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cheapest electricity tariff in Spain right now?
Of the three tariffs whose suppliers publish a numeric price, the lowest energy price is TotalEnergies A tu Aire Luz Siempre at EUR 0.1199 per kWh before tax, for homes using less than 4,000 kWh a year (read on the supplier's page on 25 October 2026). Its power term is not published, so the full bill cannot be compared from that page. The CNMC comparator lists around 800 offers and computes the total for your own consumption and contracted power.
Which is the best overall energy provider in Spain?
Iberdrola and Endesa are the two largest electricity suppliers in Spain, both offering nationwide coverage and green tariff options. By CNMC electricity sales market share for the second quarter of 2025, Endesa led with 28%, followed by Iberdrola with 23% and Naturgy with 8%, though Naturgy remains the dominant player in the separate regulated PVPC segment. Naturgy is the traditional leader in gas alongside a growing electricity business, and Repsol is a strong all-round challenger with combined electricity, gas, and fuel products, having added around 740,000 customers over the prior three years, more than any other major group (source: CNMC, quarterly retail electricity and gas market supervision report, Q2 2025, as of July 2026). The right pick depends on whether gas, green electricity, or bundled pricing matters most to you.
Do these suppliers offer green electricity tariffs?
Iberdrola markets itself heavily around renewable generation and green tariff options, and Endesa and Naturgy also sell renewable-backed tariffs. All Spanish green-electricity products must be backed by a Garantia de Origen (Guarantee of Origin) certificate issued under CNMC oversight, confirming the electricity sold was generated from renewable sources. Iberdrola's Energy Wallet lets customers pick the specific renewable plant, wind farm or hydro plant, their electricity is credited against, and Endesa, Naturgy, Repsol, TotalEnergies, and EDP all sell their own CNMC-certified 100% renewable tariffs (source: CNMC guarantees-of-origin registry and supplier product pages, as of July 2026).
Can I get electricity and gas from the same supplier in Spain?
Yes. Iberdrola, Endesa, Naturgy, and Repsol all sell combined electricity and gas contracts, often bundled onto a single monthly bill. Bundling with one supplier can simplify admin, but it is still worth comparing the combined price against separate best-in-class offers for each fuel using the CNMC's Comparador de Ofertas de Energia.
